Latest Updates from Our Project:

Clarity about shipping dates and updating addresses
over 5 years ago – Thu, Sep 06, 2018 at 11:18:49 PM

Hi everyone!

It was brought to my attention that I need to clarify my timeline a little better.

The decks are currently on a boat in the Pacific Ocean and should get to me from China the first or second week of October. Shipping the decks and other goodies to backers will begin immediately upon their arrival. The ship date I celebrated in my August updates was about the decks finally getting shipped out to me from the factory in China.

Please use https://bradytarot.backerkit.com to update your shipping address. You can retrieve your order and address info by using the email address you use for Kickstarter. If there's any issues the folks at BackerKit are great and will answer any questions.

I'll send a reminder through BackerKit in about 2 weeks about finalizing addresses, so don't panic if you haven't done this yet.

I'm so sorry if I was not clear enough before about the current time table. I reread that update and can see how it was confusing. I'll continue posting updates as things happen, but at this time it's all about waiting for them to cross the ocean.

Brady Tarot b'East Coast Tour Dates
over 5 years ago – Wed, Sep 05, 2018 at 08:44:35 PM

Hi everyone!

I've been refining my pop-up events, and wanted to give you a better idea of what these events will look like. I'll start each with a brief talk about the process of making a tarot deck and what makes this one special. Each stop will also have a fully stocked shop (t-shirts, buttons, postcards, pint glasses, and other cool stuff) as well as a limited 18 decks for sale per stop. Anyone at these events who contributed to the Kickstarter that comes and wants to pick up one of their decks they already paid for should to talk to me. 1 deck per person limit, please.

So why do I have decks for the tour but none to ship out before? I had 108 decks rush-shipped from China to ensure I would have some for tour, which is why my stocks are limited. The rest of the 2,892 decks will get in my hands by the second week of October at the latest (the waiting ugggghhhhhh), and I will begin shipping to everyone immediately after they arrive. More details about that in another update, cause this one's all about this rad tour!

We ended up going with gold matte edges and not copper, by the way
We ended up going with gold matte edges and not copper, by the way

I could not be more pleased with this product. The whole thing is seriously an experience. The boxes are sturdy and the engraving is beautiful; these boxes are works of art. The magnet closure opens easily (but not too easily), the raw muslin lining holds the cards well, and everything is clearly well-made. The book is the perfect size and printed well, and the cards feel sooo good in my hands. The book cover and cards have a matching pleasant matte texture. It's NOT that chalky weird matte that leaves marks when you scratch it, but more of a soft velvety matte. The cards shuffle and glide over each other really well, and the matte gold edges (which was the only choice given a matte finish) are actually even cooler than the original copper idea. The gilding is present, but subtle. When it catches the light, it makes the cards look like they have this really soft glow coming from within them.

I think you can tell I am totally enamored with the final product. I'm NOT an easy person to please, especially when it comes to my own work, but 10/10 worth the wait, y'all.

SO with that out of the way, the decks will ship this week, hopefully Monday. I'm all paid up, everything is manufactured and should be all packed up, and all it needs to do is get moving to me now. I'll post a mini update once they officially ship.

I'm also in the process of planning the deck's first road trip through a bit of the Midwest and East Coast! It will be the last two weeks of September, and I plan to go through Kansas City, St. Louis, Chicago, Detroit/Cleveland/Ann Arbor?, Pittsburgh, Philly, Boston, Salem, and Brooklyn. I would LOVE to see y'all there! Details of this tour will get a separate update once things are all hammered out. I'm so excited to get to know the tarot/esoteric communities better throughout the US!

Thank you all again for your continued patience. I can confidently tell you this wait will indeed be worth it!

A look at the opening, art that is still available, and updates on delivery expectations
almost 6 years ago – Mon, Jul 23, 2018 at 08:50:56 PM

The opening at Syntax in Denver was amazing, and it was really cool meeting some of you Kickstarter folks there! The response was overwhelmingly positive, and a handful of the original prints have already sold. Many are still available, and now that I have given Denver a fair shake at getting their hands on the original pieces used for this deck, I wanted to open it up to all of you. Each piece is framed, has a UV protective varnish, and retail at $450. I will ship domestically and internationally, but shipping cost will be on the buyer. Contact me here if there is any interest.

Horns!

So far the II: High Priestess, III: Empress, IV: Emperor, VI: Lovers, IX: Hermit, XVII: The Star, and XIX: The Sun are sold from the Major. From the Minor, the Ace and 10 of Arrows, the Ace and 2 of Feathers, and the 6 of Roots have sold.

So, after the opening all that is left is to wait (and wait and wait) on the decks to get here. The factory is about to receive the bamboo boxes (they were made in a different factory in China) before they can put the book and cards in them and ship them out. They've told me they're shooting for getting them shipped out by the beginning of August. Production just takes sooo long, but I am not personally sweating it. For anything I do, quality will always win out over rushing to get something done, and these decks are HIGH quality. I do plan on posting an update once they ship out to me, which will hopefully be in the next 2 weeks.

A huge perpetual thank you to everyone for your continued patience. It's a bummer having a project in production limbo, but I know it will be worth the wait!

More updates soon!
