A Slight Delay and a Peek at the Rewards

The estimated delivery date of the cards had to be pushed back by about 2 weeks due to the boxes needing extra time to be made. While it's a bummer since they won't be in Denver in time for the art opening on July 13th, it means that the quality will be that much better.

As of now, the estimated arrival date for the deck is late July to early August. I'll keep you all updated if anything changes.

In the mean time, I'm cranking out the merch. The buttons were made by my friend Theresa from the prints I pulled as proofs while creating the deck. So far, I've been really pleased with the quality of the stuff I've made (or got made) for you.

Printing in China and The Official Art Opening!

I recently returned from my trip to Shenzhen, China to get the cards printed! The deck is currently in its last phase of production and will ship soon, and I plan to update everyone again once that happens.

China was really cool, and the factory was a wonderland for printmakers. I'm so glad I went with this company because their quality is seriously on point.

The cards in these images are uncut and uncoated (they will get a uv matte finish and have copper gilding on the edges), but oh man am I excited about the finished product.

The boxes are also amazing; the bamboo is sturdy, and the engraving is just gorgeous. An awesome thing to have on your shelf or coffee table, and free of the clutter of barcodes or copyright info. They really feel like works of art! I'll share images once the decks arrive in mid-July.

Also in mid-July is the big celebration party and art opening on July 13th in Denver. I have such a special night planned that involves some of my favorite people here. If you're in the neighborhood, please come!

At this time I can't guarantee the deck will be in Denver in time for the opening (but I have an 85% certainty now). I think I built enough of a time cushion for it, but I don't have control over shipping and I just want to be realistic about it. Here's hoping they come in time!

Regardless, the opening will feature the original 79 hand-colored linocuts used for the deck on display and for sale. I hope you can join me!

This project is so close to finishing, which is wonderful and difficult to believe. Thank you again to all of you for making it possible!  What a journey

Finalizing BackerKit!

Hi Kickstarter buds!

I'll be closing up the preorder store tonight around 10 pm Mountain Time. You will still be able to change your addresses after the orders are locked, but I will be charging cards tonight.

Also I am going to China tomorrow to oversee printing of this deck which is just insanely exciting! I'll post pics from this adventure soon!

Hi folks!

Now that all the images are completed. I'm going to close the BackerKit orders on Wednesday May 30th. I'll supply images down here and on the BackerKit site so you can decide what prints you want for those that ordered them.

I've received a few questions about updating addresses. Everything can be done through the BackerKit site, and if there's any problems with it please don't hesitate to contact the BackerKit people. They are great!

I plan to ship in two waves: Everything but prints will begin shipping July 16th, and prints will ship closer to the fall. I won't be charging extra shipping for the prints. It just won't be possible to edition the whole series of 78 prints and add color to 120+ before the fall, and I want to get everyone's deck out as soon as I can. I'll continue updating through Kickstarter as I edition prints because the whole process is awesome.

Onto the images!

Just wanted to post a quick update to let everyone know that I have completed all the images! Now I know making a linocut tarot deck takes me about a year and a half. Maybe next time I'll be able to more accurately predict how long a deck of tarot cards takes to make ;)

Onto the fun part!

I'll have post a separate update in the next day or so about closing up the BackerKit preorder store so keep posted!
